Households looking for a kitchen sink that will withstand the wear and tear of daily life could benefit from a new offering from Duravit.The German manufacturer has launched a built-in ceramic kitchen sink, reports the World Interior Design Network.Made from Duraceram, a material said to be durable enough to withstand daily wear and tear, the Cassia model is available in three sizes and five colours.The interior design site says the rectangular sink boasts space for pots and pans, with an integrated draining board and spacious surface area.Keeping the kitchen sink clean is made simpler by a slight inclined surface that drains water quickly.A slump in the property market could see more homeowners investing in DIY home improvements to boost the value of their properties.Idealo.co.uk has revealed that interest in home improvement goods has increased by 3,000 per cent since February 2010.Online searches for sinks increased by 219 per cent, which could mean homeowners are planning to upgrade kitchen sinks or sink accessories this year.
