The national eScape home design competition has yielded a new household blueprint that offers imaginative use of kitchen space. Easier.com reported the design ruses of the winning entry, provided by London-based architect firm PCKO, after a panel of judges that included Changing Rooms design guru Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen judged its use of space and light second to none.Elements of the houses external architecture, such as its varying roof heights and irregular window shapes were said to add to its modern pioneering feel, but on the inside the house boasted measures to materially improve home living, not least in the kitchen. The property contained a separate fully fitted kitchen with maximised natural lighting, while boasting top quality appliances and generous work surfaces, all complemented by a stroke of design prowess, in the kitchens roll-down cupboard doors. Top quality sinks of the most modern designs could well feature in next generation space-efficient homes, with Astracasts angular Stainless Steel Bistro sink models offering the kind of bold design that can make appliances more than just an inconspicuous item of practicality.Alongside innovation within the kitchen, the winning home offered clever design in terms of the placement of the kitchen and other highly frequented rooms within the house, keeping these areas in quietest spots and insulating them from the outside with a living wall of storage rooms and staircases adjacent to neighbouring properties.
