Anyone undertaking DIY in their kitchen or elsewhere in the home should be careful to take safety precautions.According to home insurer Swinton, there was a steep rise in the number of DIY accidents over the recent Easter weekend as people rushed to complete jobs in a short timeframe. In order to avoid such incidents, it suggests that people take the time to plan their project carefully and get a professional in for any tasks which they are not comfortable doing.Steve Chelton, insurance development manager at Swinton said Many homeowners are starting to make their own modifications to their homes in a bid to save money. We urge all of our customers to make sure they have adequate accidental damage cover on their home insurance policies before undertaking any DIY work, to avoid any unnecessary claims.Earlier this week, Andrew Bernard, JMLs resident DIY presenter, said that safety should be a priority for anyone undertaking DIY.ADNFCR-1321-ID-19726830-ADNFCR
