A new development of show homes with innovative green credentials has opened to the public. The Elysian Fields development in Upton near Northampton showcases a range of energy efficiency and environmentally-friendly features. Some homes includes green roofs to reduce rainwater run-off (ideal for installing a collection system to save on water use in toilets, for example) and solar powered hot water.Sales director for Barratt homes, who developed the site, Jenny Andrew explained the benefits offered by the new properties. The show homes reflect modern living today - spacious, sociable and flexible layouts, a convenient location, and eco features as standard - which help the environment and homeowners budgets, she said.Homeowners can keep their environmental impact to a minimum delete by aiming to reduce their water usage, for example. This can be achieved by replacing their existing jag-based water filter system and changing to an integrated filter system in their kitchen tap, such as the Swich system from leading manufacturer Abode.ADNFCR-1321-ID-18853071-ADNFCR
