Experts in interior design have recommended that homeowners focus on lighting in room such as the kitchen to ensure they are making the most of what the space has to offer. According to the British Interior Design Association different levels of light is essential to any room as it can create different atmospheres and environments.A kitchen, for example, can appear more spacious than it really is if it contains lights at a mixture of heights.Dean Keyworth, former chairman of the BIDA, said The main thing in any room is the different levels of light - a mixture of lamps on low tables, wall lights and ceiling lights.By having the different levels of light you can make a small space seem bigger because you can highlight with wall lights.A room can also be made to feel more cosy by keeping lamps at a lower level and wall lights on a dimmer setting, Mr Keyworth added.
