Water-saving kitchen taps are one of the small environmentally-friendly changes homeowners can make, one expert designer has said. Those who cannot afford to redesign their entire kitchen to boost their green credentials can make a difference by choosing water filter taps, explained Samantha Heyl, an interior designer at US green design firm EcoLogic. She suggests that simple kitchen changes can cut the amount of water a family uses.A filter tap, which automatically filters water, can reduce the amount of money homeowners spend on bottled water and also cuts the waste plastic produced, Ms Heyl explained to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.Meanwhile, a water-saving tap can reduce the amount of water used by a household.Recent research from Norwich and Peterborough has revealed that a designer kitchen tops the list of dream home features for 77 per cent of Britons, followed closely by energy-efficiency which is the number one attribute for 63 per cent of people.Homeowners could combine the two features by investing in new sinks with a food waste disposer and Franke triflow which includes an in-built water purifier.
