An interior designer used a curved arc countertop to soften the boxy, linear pattern of a kitchen.Karen Kassen told Kitchen and Bath Design News that she chose to use the arc styled countertop on the central kitchen island to create a focal point in the room. She also noted that the countertop helped to create a natural walkway beyond the island and establish continuity between the space and the living area beyond.Elsewhere, Ms Kassen added a blue glass table to complement the blue accent tones used in the backsplash behind the kitchen sink and in the countertops.Referring to the innovative cooking accessories that she installed in the kitchen, the designer said One of my favourite things that we incorporated into the design was a teppanyaki grill on the island for healthy, Japanese-style grilling. This has its own ventilation and cover, so as to not take up too much countertop space.Atieno Randa, a design writer for the East African, recently said that personalised kitchens can be as flexible as your creativity.
