County councils outline sink waste disposal subsidies

County councils are continuing to encourage the use of sink waste disposal units, with two midlands areas leading the way in providing incentives.Herefordshire and Worcestershire county councils have outlined plans to offer subsidies of as much as 80 to those wishing to reduce their kitchen waste by installing a sink disposal unit.As a central facet of campaigns to encourage responsible disposal of waste, sink disposal units have been encouraged as a good alternative to composting for those who do not have the facilities to do so.Worcestershire county council said that waste disposers are an ideal alternative if you live in a flat or apartment with little or no garden or outside space.Subsidies for those taking up the advice and installing kitchen waste facilities are higher the more expensive the unit chosen is those spending over 200 get 80 back, while outlays between 100 and 200 are met with a 50 subsidy. With councils taking a lead in encouraging waste disposal usage, this clean alternative to simply throwing out food waste will be more attractive and practical than composting for many, with subsidies now making it almost as cheap for some.
