The height of the counter is an important factor to take into consideration when designing a new kitchen.That is the view of Katherine Salant, who has suggested that every kitchen design needs to consider who is going to be using it most frequently and cater to their specific needs.Taking the inspiration of UK kitchen designer Johnny Grey, she claimed that there needs to be flexibility in the kitchen, but also plenty of planning.Practicality dictates some flexibility in determining counter heights so different people can work in the same kitchen, she commented.However, she went on to say that this should always favour the person who does the most cooking.Ms Salant has previously pointed out that most kitchens are designed to suit the average family, but many families are likely to have specific needs or tastes and do not fit the perceived image of a regular household.
