Long-term exposure to acids can cause staining and could etch the surface, the article recommends.In addition, homeowners are encouraged to use baking soda as a means of keeping sinks made of nonporous, acrylic-based solid surfacing as good as new.The article says that stains can be rubbed out using baking soda and water which has been mixed to a toothpaste-like consistency.Lemon juice and vinegar are also touted as essential ingredients to keeping a kitchen sink sparkling.Meanwhile, Lifehacker.com has reported that stainless steel sinks can be used as an effective method of removing kitchen odours from hands.
