A ceramic artist created a quaint, inviting kitchen at his home by crafting his own pottery tiles.John Glick, the owner of Plum Tree Pottery, showed the Detroit News around the kitchen at his restored farmhouse. Here, Mr Glick was able to use his skills to create a range of attractive surfaces in the kitchen sink area. These included kitchen countertop tiles and a tile mural backsplash. The pot racks were also made by the potter to add to the traditional feel.Elsewhere in the kitchen, Mr Glick and his wife turned a 1940s butcher block table into a functional kitchen island.Mr Glick said that he had decided to make extensive renovations to his home after his children grew up. Thats when you should build, not when you need it, he told the newspaper.Interior designers Jasmine Madson and Heidi Coatsworth told ArgusLeader.com that removing clutter and making simple alterations are inexpensive but effective ways of remodelling a home.
