Call for grey water recycling for the kitchen sink

As fresh water supplies become more valuable, scientists and conservationists are calling for measures such as grey water recycling, which enables dish water to be reused rather than discarded down the kitchen sink. Industrial designers are starting to listen to the green movement and one idea can be found on Coroflot, the Internet site where designers post details of their inventions. The creation, by Alexis Lizares, is still in the concept stage but may not be for long as large appliance manufacturers recognize the potential of water recyclers to boost sales. Lizares idea potentially saves users up to 208 gallons of water per week, and installation is said to be very simple. Apparently, all users need to do is configure the P-trap installation to make room for a three-way valve. The worktop control makes the act of dishwater recycling highly ergonomic i.e. there is no bending over required. A 340-watt self-priming pump moves the water from the filter to the (internal) nine-gallon storage tank. Finally, a removable front panel allows for instant access and easy cleaning of components.
