Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

A clearer picture of the future of kitchen waste management in the Bristol area is expected imminently as the local authority meets to make its final decision on a new scheme, it has emerged.Gloucestershire Council looks set to approve plans for a 10 million facility at Hallen, which would see in-vessel composting of the citys kitchen waste processed more locally than at present, the Bristol Evening Post reports.New Earth Solutions (NES) currently handles around 30,000 tonnes of organic waste at its facility in Dorset and the proposed development would see an extra 20,000 tonnes worth of capacity much nearer the city.NESs Brett Spiller told the paper Bristol has a separate kitchen waste collection and weve been taking their waste for some time.If the Hallen facility is approved, it will deal with the citys immediate requirements. It should be fully operational by 2010.A key way that householders can deal with kitchen waste on a daily basis is by using a food waste disposer unit, such as a Franke sink disposer, which grinds up organic matter and lessens its impact in the water.ADNFCR-1321-ID-18922906-ADNFCR
