UK homes could soon be taking a lead from television and playing host to an explosion of colour, should a new programme achieve its goals. Colin Justins Home Heist, premiering soon on UKTV Style, has made it its mission to rid Britain of its obsession with beige colouring in kitchens, lounges and elsewhere.Hosts Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan attributed the choice of bland colours to the influence of TV programmes and estate agents both of whom were said to advise neutral colours in the interests of making a sale.And their project takes into account the finding of paint specialist Dulux, whose recent survey revealed that 55 per cent of people choose to live in a blandly-decorated homes, while some 45 per cent acknowledge disliking their colour scheme.The hosts announced Up until lately, Britain has been terrified of colour due to a raft of shows which lectured that everything must be cream.Its time to give beige the brush off.
