Bath brought into Brighton kitchen

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

Unusual elements of kitchen design are often a major selling point for property, but a particularly distinctive home layout is now making waves on the Brighton market. According to local newspaper The Argus, a flat on the citys Hanover Street has been put up for sale featuring a bathtub in the kitchen.Billing itself as the ultimate space-saving feature, the bathtub also contains a hinged worktop which can be swung back on in order to facilitate more cooking space once its user is washed and dried. Auction manager Nick Muston of estate agents Austin Gray told The Argus I couldnt quite believe it when I went inside. Ive been in about 15,000 properties in my career as an auctioneer and Ive never before come across a property with a bath in the kitchen.Another unusual feature of the flat was said to be the presence of a toilet out on the balcony, priming the property for somewhat unconventional living. While items such as bathtubs are occasionally brought into the kitchen, modern home design trends are also seeing traditional kitchen appliances removed from the eating area, with tailored outdoor kitchens now proving an asset to top-end homes.
