The winners of this years Electrolux kitchen design contest have been announced.Held in collaboration with Interior Design magazine, the annual competition recognises designers attempts to create modern kitchens.This years grand prize went to Marcello Zuffo who created a kitchen with movable components.Henrik Otto, senior vice president of Global Design at Electrolux, praised the design concept because of the innovative way he interpreted the challenge of meeting the needs of the modern family.Second place went to Kim Letven and Nada Bibi from WE design for their work with glass walls to hide appliances, while third place was taken by Hariri Hariri Architecture for a smooth worktop and the use of an attractive undermount sink. Last years competition was won by Jeff Jenkins who created a space that encourages social interaction and elevates the idea of the modern kitchen as the heart of the home.Popular aspects of all entries, both this year and last, included undermount sinks, islands and innovative taps.
