Millions of Brits could be making a mess of their Astracast kitchen sink when they are making renovations.Lots of men are responsible for cutting corners as they rush to get home improvements finished, according to research by FrogTape.Two-thirds admit that they are more likely to attempt to get jobs finished themselves rather than calling in help from a professional, owing to the difficult economic climate. One in ten claim to have botched a job because they are too proud to ask for help from a tradesman.Saving money was one of the overriding causes of DIY disasters, although damage to triflow taps and ceramic sinks may have been avoidable in a number of cases if homeowners were better prepared.FrogTape head of marketing Alan Murray explained In the long run it does pay to do a job properly - a half-hearted attempt at decorating wont do your home any favours.Investing a little time and effort to prepare and using the right equipment is key to any successful painting and decorating job.
