Australia leads the way in waste disposal

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

Australians are heading in the right direction when it comes to processing kitchen waste, according to new research. In a survey conducted by leading food waste disposal product manufacturer InSinkErator, 56 per cent of Australians said they used recycling bins. Crucially, however, these same respondents said that they wanted to do more to help the environment and reduce waste. InSinkErators general manager, Steve Pearse, said that of all household generated waste, the level originating from the kitchen accounted for 75 per cent. While Australians attitude to recycling and green living may be good, the survey still showed that only 20 per cent owned a home composting device and around one per cent had a food waste disposal system The InSinkErator range of waste disposal units is known for its green credentials. Each unit uses less than six litres of water a day, which is the equivalent of a single toilet flush.ADNFCR-1321-ID-18822683-ADNFCR
