A kitchen should offer the high performance and sleek design style of a sports car, an interior designer has said.Paolo Pininfarina, owner of the Italian design company that bears his name, made the comment during a recent visit to Vancouver in Canada, the Vancouver Sun reported.Mr Pininfarina previously worked as a project manager at various car firms like Cadillac and General Motors before taking over the design firm that was originally founded by his grandfather.The newspaper said that Mr Pininfarina was in Canada for the unveiling of a luxury housing development which features kitchen designs by his company. These include stylish, stainless steel work surfaces in the kitchen sink and food preparation areas.When you take in the full scope of the massive 12-foot stainless steel countertop that looks like it might take flight with just the slightest breeze, its easy to see how the interaction between driver and car is not unlike that of a cook and a kitchen, said the Vancouver Sun.Earlier this month, Reuters reported that a growing number of kitchen owners are choosing cookware items with muscular qualities because of the popularity of macho TV chefs like Gordon Ramsey and Marco Pierre White.
